Upcoming Events

On this page you will see some of the upcoming tournaments and golf programs we will have in 2008.  A good goal is to set up our major events and try to keep the schedule close to same over years, and add a few new items as we grow the club.  Please check the monthly schedule and call if you have any questions about upcoming golf or club functions.

Saturday men’s events-As we have done in the past we will continue to create a number of games and formats for Saturday morning play.  Tee times are held for member play on Saturday and Sunday and Sunday mornings until 9:00.  The Saturday games are a great chance to meet new members and get in some casual competition.

Traditional Championships-The dates are scheduled for Men's Championship, Match Play, Member Guest, Junior Clinics, and couples Mixers.  We will add as events come on the schedule, and fun golf for all of our members.
  

Match Play-Men's Match play Championship will run through the month of June and conclude on the 4th of July.  Blind pairings with handicaps in play.  Later in the summer will be 2-man matches in Best Ball format.

Ladies Golf-In 2008 we will continue to have our Ladies Golf Night on Wednesdays at 5:00.  As we get some more players, we can also discuss the possibility of 18 hole players and weekend rounds.

Junior Golf-We have scheduled the Junior Golf Clinic for June 17-June 27^th.  Our golf professionals will provide the 2 week lesson series again as we help get our young players started in the game of golf with lessons on game fundamentals, etiquette, and rules of the game.  There will also be a few "family Golf" afternoons on Sundays this summer.  We will get the whole family playing as a team with a special course set-up.
  

Couples Golf will continue on Friday evenings twice per month as we head to the opening of the clubhouse.  We know this will grow into a fun evening for all as the club opens and we get to use the entire facility, and the entire membership comes together on Friday nights for “9 and dine”.

Strawberry Cup-Every men’s event this season will give points for the top teams and individuals.  The points will be accumulated through the year in all the championships, like the Fed-Ex cup.  After the conclusion of the club championship, the top 2 point earners will be captain, and will chose teams for the top 16 players and we will take a fall weekend for a Ryder-Cup style competition.  Prizes and bragging rights will be on the line, and new partnerships will be formed.

Hole-In-One Club-We will soon post a sign-up in the golf shop for any member wishing to be included in our hole-in-one club.  A $5 fee will be charged to be part of the club and any member making a hole in one during a round at Strawberry Creek will receive the proceed of the club in cash, for the bar bill, and pro shop credit.  When a member makes a hole in one, all members are again charged $5 to replenish the pot.  This is open to all players and as the club grows, it becomes good thing when, of course, the acer gets to buy a round for the bar!!  As the size of the group increases, we would like to also add a special plaque for a hole in one also.
